H-Shaped carriage
When comparing this track variation system to devices with parallel sliding arms or telescopic sliding arms, we notice the reverse position of the elements composing them. Indeed, the parallel and telescopic systems have sliding arms fastened to the boxes, while in this case they are welded to the frame. Additionally, the sliding seats are embedded in the boxes. As a difference to the undercarriages with parallel or telescopic sliding arms, the H-shaped undercarriages are perfectly symmetrical. A carriage with sliding seats on the boxes is also remarkably stronger and has less play among its components, if compared to the previously described undercarriages. Starting with the same dimensions, this type of carriage has however shorter widening strokes. In account of all that, the H-shaped carriages are suitable to be paired to machines requiring a limited widening.
